I jumped and looked up to where the sound was coming from. Two guys, about 19 got out of the car. I noticed that a lot of other girls were looking at them as well. I laughed and shook my head before dropping my bag and sprinting to them. I leaped into the first boys arms and was embraced by a tight warm hug. I could tell just by the scent of his cologne that I was hugging my brother. I jumped down from his arms and gave his best friend Brady, an equally as big hug. "I'm so glad you guys came." I grinned. Both boys put their arms around me and we walked back to where I had dropped my bag. "I understand we have a lot to catch up on?" Brady said, nudging me. I blushed. Carter shook his head. Who do we have to have a talk with?" He asked. I laughed. "You're awful." I teased playfully shoving them. |

I was a bit nervous walking over to the field. I was meeting Kats brother and his friend today. I looked around until I found Kat talking to 2 older guys. Now or never. I was doing this for Kat I reminded myself. I walked over. "Hey." I smiled to her.

I turned when I heard Shane. "Hi." I grinned and gave him a hug. "Oh this is Carter, my brother, and his friend Brady." I introduced them. "Carter, Brady, this is Shane." I said. Carter stood up straight but held out his hand. Brady crossed his arms and looked him over.

Oh god. I was being judged. "Nice to meet you." I smiled shaking Carter's hand. I offered my hand to Brady.

Brady stood there for a second but finally shook his hand. I nudged him and gave him a dirty look. My smile came back when I looked back to Shane. "Why don't we go out for lunch. We have some catching up to do." Carter suggested. "Sure. Shane do you want to come?" I asked hopefully.

"Yay! Okay lets go. Carter did you drive?" I asked hoping he had his car. He nodded and I grinned. We walked out to the parking lot and there was his cherry red, mustang convertible. I shook my head. "Still the spoiled one I see." I said. I got in the back with Shane.

"Wow. I like your car." I told Carter. "My dad used to work on old mustangs." I mentioned while I sat in the back looking at Kat.

I looked at the two boys hopefully but Brady lifted his head and nailed Shane with a glare through the rearview mirror. "What do you specialize in here at the at the academy?" He asked. I could feel 20 questions starting.

Oh good lord he was intense. "Well basically team leadership, combat and escape." I explained. "Im not bad with equipment and fixing things though." I added not wanting to brag.

I bit my lip, nervous now. "What about rope? Are you good with tying things up?" Brady asked sarcastically. I sighed. "Brady... He knows." I whispered. That made Carter look up surprised. "He knows? Like he knows?" He asked. I nodded. "Yes." I answered simply. "You're a lucky guy." Carter nodded.

I awkwardly looked down. "Yea..." I said. I don't know why that made me lucky but oh well. "So why didn't you go to the academy?" I asked Carter changing the subject. I didn't want to make Kat uncomfortable.

I giggled. "It's always funny to see you with a ukulele." I teased. I blushed when I notice Shane glancing at me.
